EPA's Office of Children's Health Protection

In May of 1997 EPA established the Office of Children's Health Protection (OCHP) to ensure the implementation of the President's Executive Order as well as the National Agenda to Protect Children’s Health from Environmental Threats. The mission of the Office is to make the protection of children’s health a fundamental goal of public health and environmental protection in the United States. The Office supports and facilitates Agency efforts to protect children's health from environmental threats. For more information, see www.epa.gov/children

American Lung Association

"The Health Consequences of Involuntary Exposure to Tobacco Smoke: A Report of the Surgeon General" June 27, 2006: The Surgeon General office released this major report on the health effects of secondhand smoke and released a follow-up excerpts report concentrating on children's exposure in 2007.
