Addressing Asbestos at Superfund Sites
As a result of past use in some commercial products and improper disposal practices, asbestos is found in our environment unrelated to areas where it is a naturally occurring substance. Like many contaminants, depending on where it is found and how much is in the environment, it can be cleaned up as part of EPA's Superfund (CERCLA) program.
