General Information

EPA Analytical Services Branch (ASB) has made changes to the Inorganic Statement of Work (SOW) based on feedback received from the technical community since the posting of ILM06.X in November 2005.

ISM01.0 defines the analytical methods for the isolation, detection, and quantitative measurement of 23 metals (including mercury) and cyanide in aqueous/water and soil/sediment samples. The SOW also includes methods for total metals analysis in wipes and air filters. Analyses are performed using Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-AES), Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Cold Vapor Atomic Absorption (CVAA), and colorimetric techniques.

ISM01.0 reflects updates to the existing ILM05.4 analytical method that include, but are not limited to:
