Final Specifications for Certification Programs for Irrigation
Professionals Announced

With the release of its first set of final
specifications for Certification Programs for Irrigation Professionals,
EPA's WaterSense program launched a national effort to transform
the marketplace for water-efficient products and programs. Certification
programs that earn the WaterSense label are required to test experienced
professionals and provide program oversight in order to accurately
assess their competency in designing, installing/maintaining and
auditing water-efficient landscape irrigation systems. Please see

Administrator Johnson Announces WaterSense Program

Stephen Johnson announced EPA's new WaterSense program June
12 at the American Water Works Association's Annual Conference and
Exposition in San Antonio, Texas. The press

Alliance for Water Efficiency
Published June 2006
Using an EPA grant, the California Urban Water Conservation Council
(CUWCC) is proposing to create the Alliance for Water Efficiencya
national partnership on water-use efficiency that will represent
the needs of the water-efficiency community, develop initiatives
for improved products, research new technologies for saving water,
and assemble programs for water utility involvement across the United
