WaterSense Certification Scheme
WaterSense requires all products bearing the WaterSense
label to be independently certified. Certification provides
consumers with confidence in both the efficiency and performance
of WaterSense labeled products.
EPA provided a public comment period regarding the new requirements
contained in the Draft
WaterSense Certification Scheme (PDF) (22 pp, 124K, About PDF)
through October 16, 2007. EPA will utilize the public's feedback
to move forward in finalizing the certification scheme. The goal
is a robust and well-defined independent third-party certification
scheme that works well for all parties and, most importantly, ensures
that WaterSense labeled products perform well and save water.
In the mean time, WaterSense will continue to certify products
in accordance with the interim certification procedures outlined
in Appendices A and B of the WaterSense
Program Guidelines (PDF) (42 pp, 283K, About PDF).
