The reports dictionary contains descriptions for the reports available within the SDWIS Federal Reports Search system. The reports are listed in the order they appear in the system.

| Water System Summary | This report shows a summary of public water system (PWS) information, including the PWS type, location served, number of facilities (such as, storage tanks, well heads, water intakes), number of violations, and number of site visits. |
| Water System Detail | This report shows detailed public water system (PWS) information, including owner type, primary source (such as, surface water or ground water), activity status (active or inactive), population served count, and service connections count. |
| Service Area | This report details the types of areas served by the water system (such as, residential areas, schools, daycares, mobile home parks, etc.) and which one is considered the primary area served. |
| Geographic Area | This report shows the public water system's geographic area information, including area type (county, city, tribal, zip code or unknown) and specifies the particular area by name. |
| Site Visits | This report shows detailed public water system (PWS) site visit information, including the visit reason and comments. Examples of site visits include PWS inspections and sanitary surveys. Note: There may be multiple site visits per PWS. |
| Events and Milestones | This report shows detailed public water system (PWS) event milestone information, including the event reason and event comments. Examples include responses to fecal contamination, conducting a lead service line inventory, or responses to significant deficiencies. Note: There may be multiple events per PWS. |
| Facilities | This reports shows detailed public water system (PWS) facility information, including facility name, facility type, and facility activity. | Lead and Copper Report > Lead Completeness > Lead Completeness Summary | This report shows the total number of public water systems with population served counts greater than 3,300 by primacy agency and breaks down which of those systems have a Pb90th sample (the concentration of lead in the top ten percent of samples) within the latest three years of data available (displayed as total system count and percentage). |

| Service Line Inventory | This report presents state primacy agency reporting for each public water system's service line counts to date, in the following categories: lead, galvanized requiring replacement, lead status unknown or unknown, and non-lead service lines. |
| Tribal PFAS Data > Tribal PFAS System Summary Report | This report shows a summary of PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances) samples collected by tribal public water systems. The analyte short name (description of a particular PFAS chemical) and sample collection date are included for each record. |
| Tribal PFAS Data > Tribal PFAS Sample Location Summary Report | This report shows a summary of the sample point (code given to identify the sample location where the sample was collected) and location (sample location where the sample was collected) for the PFAS samples collected by the tribal public waters systems. The sample collection date and lab method are included for each record. |
| Tribal PFAS Data > Tribal PFAS Result Report | This report shows detailed PFAS samples collected by tribal public water systems. The sample collection date, sample location (sample location where the sample was collected), analyte short name (description of a particular PFAS chemical), and result are included for each record. |
| AWIA Certification | This report will display which PWSIDs have and have not certified their RRA and ERP for the original AWIA compliance cycle, which took place during 2020-2021. After future five-year AWIA compliance deadlines have passed, EPA will update this report to add RRA and ERP certification data. |

The filter dictionary contains definitions for the report filters available within the SDWIS Federal Reports Search system. The filters are listed in alphabetical order.

| Agency Type | The type of agency performing the visit, such as, water district, city, state, etc. If interested in a specify agency type, use the drop down to select an agency type. Otherwise, select All. |

| City Served | Name of the city served by the facility. This filter field only displays 'All' option. |
| Combined Distribution System Identification | Combined distribution system (CDS) identifier. If interested in a specific CDS, enter the ID for the CDS. Otherwise, leave blank. |
| Compliance Evaluation | Result of the operator compliance evaluation. M = Minor Deficiencies N = No deficiencies or recommendations R = Recommendations made S = Significant deficiencies X = Not Evaluated Z = Not applicable. Use drop down if interested in a specific result. Otherwise, select All. |
| Compliance Status | The current status of a violation, that is, known (K), open (O), returned to compliance (R), or system inactive (I). Violations with compliance status Known (violations with populated compliance period end dates) or Open (violations without compliance period end dates) are still in noncompliance (still in violation). Violations with status Returned to Compliance have returned to compliance (no longer in violation). Meanwhile, violations with System Inactive status have been closed due to the system becoming inactive but the violation could return if the system becomes active in the future. |
| Contaminant | Contaminant for which a public water system has incurred a violation of a primary drinking water regulation. If interested in a specific contaminant, select the desired contaminant form the drop down. Otherwise, select All. |

| County Served | Name of the county served by the facility. This filter field only displays 'All' option. |
| Data Verification Evaluation | Result of the data verification evaluation. M = Minor Deficiencies N = No deficiencies or recommendations R = Recommendations made S = Significant deficiencies X = Not Evaluated Z = Not applicable Use drop down if interested in a specific result. Otherwise, select All. |
| DBPR Schedule Category | Identifies the category for Stage 2 Disinfectant Byproducts Rule (DBPR) schedule. Category selection ranges based on population served or connection to a combined distribution system (CDS) serving a specific population served range. If interested in a specific category, select the category option. Otherwise, select All option. |
| Deactivation Date From | Date when the water system was deactivated (water system no longer actively serving water) or removed from federal oversight because it no longer met SDWA criteria as a public water system (PWS). This column is NULL (blank) if the water system is active. If interested in PWSs that were deactivated after a specific date, populate this field with the date for the start of the time frame you are interested in. >= MM/DD/YYYY. Otherwise, leave blank. |

| Event Actual From | Date on which the milestone was conducted or achieved. If interested in milestone events that were conducted or achieved after a specific date, populate field with the date that starts the time frame you are interested in >= MM/DD/YYYY. Otherwise, leave blank. |
| Event Actual To | Date on which the milestone was conducted or achieved. If interested in milestone events that were conducted or achieved before a specific date, populate field with the date that ends the time frame you are interested in <= MM/DD/YYYY. Otherwise, leave blank. |
| Event Date From | The calendar date when the scheduled activity was successfully completed. This date is optional if the Event Activity code is "DONE". | Facility Activity Code | The value of this attribute indicates the status of the facility. | Facility Deactivation Date From | Date the facility was deactivated (no longer active). This is date pertains to the facility not necessarily the public water system (PWS). A facility could be deactivated but the PWS may still be active. This column is NULL if the water system is active. If interested in facilities that were deactivated before a specific date, populate this field with the start date of the time frame of interest >=MM /DD/YYYY. Otherwise, leave blank. |

| Facility ID | Identification code for a specific water system facility. When this ID is used with the PWSID, it uniquely identifies a water system facility. Note: Facilities from different water systems may have the same Facility ID. There may be repeat Facility ID values nationally but not for the same water system. Examples of facilities include treatment plants, wells, consecutive connections, etc. If interested in a specific Facility ID, populate this field with the Facility ID. Otherwise, leave blank. NOTE: This is an open text field. Additionally to help the search, populate a PWS ID in the PWS ID field. |

| LT2 Schedule Category | Identifies the category for Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment (LT2) schedule. Category selection ranges from Schedule 1 to Schedule 5, option to select All is also included. If interested in a specific category, select the schedule option. Otherwise, select All option. |
| Management Operation Evaluation | Result of the management operations evaluation. The two-letter code indicates the primacy agency or region that regulates the water system. Note: Utah PWS IDs begin with 4 letters (UTAH) followed by 5 numbers. To filter by PWS, click the dropdown next to the filter field then select the PWS to populate the field. Otherwise, leave blank. |

| PWS Type | The type of drinking water system. Public water system (PWS) - A system for the provision to the public of piped water for human consumption, which has at least 15 service connections or regularly serves an average of at least 25 individuals at least 60 days out of the year. Community water system (CWS) - A PWS that serves at least 15 service connections used by year-round residents or regularly serves at least 25 year-round residents (such as, homes, apartments and condominiums that are occupied year-round as primary residences). Non-transient non-community water system (NTNCWS) - A PWS that regularly serves at least 25 of the same nonresident persons per day for more than six months per year. A typical example is a school or an office building that has its own water source, such as a drinking water well. Transient non-community water system (TNCWS) - A PWS that does not serve 25 of the same nonresident persons per day for more than six months per year. A typical example is a campground or a highway rest stop that has its own water source, such as a drinking water well. Non-public (NP) - A drinking water system reported to the EPA by a primacy agency that does not meet the definition of Public Water System above. Unknown - The primacy agency did not report the type of system to EPA. |
| Quarter | Calendar quarter of data submission to Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS); SDWIS is updated, corrected if necessary, and frozen each quarter. This field allows the user to view the status of SDWIS data reported at a selected quarter. It is best thought of of version control. |
| Reason | Reason for the site visit. If interested in a specific site visit reason, select a reason from the drop-down. Otherwise, select All. |
| Reduced Monitoring Begin Date From | Initial start date of the reduced monitoring period for a system. If interested in systems that began reduced monitoring after a specific date, populate this field with a begin date >= MM/DD/YYYY. Otherwise, leave blank. |

| Rule | National Primary Drinking Water rule for which a public water system has incurred a violation. If interested in violations for a specific rule, select the desired rule from the drop down. Otherwise, leave unselected. |
| Rule Family | The rule family a violation falls under. Rules are categorized into families then groups, such as, Groundwater Rule, Lead and Copper Rule, PFAS Rules, etc. |
| Rule Group | The rule group a violation falls under. Rules are categorized into families then groups, such as, Chemicals, Microbials, etc. |
| Sample End Date | Date of the last day of the monitoring period in which 90th percentile data for lead or copper was acquired. |
| Sample Start Date | Date of the first day of the monitoring period in which 90th percentile data for lead or copper was acquired. |
| Season Begin Date From | A PWS may be seasonal, meaning that it is not open or serving water year-round. A typical example is a summer camp that has its own water source and is only open during the summer season but closed the rest of the year. The seasonal begin date is the opening month and day of the period of time when the water system serves water. If interested in a specific seasonal time frame, populate this field with the season begin date >= MM/DD/YYYY. The year in this date field does not impact the results as the results field is formatted to MM/DD only. This From date field is to be used as the starting date range in the seasonal begin date you are interested in. Otherwise, leave blank. |
