Report Air Emissions Data
Welcome National Emissions Inventory Reporters!
Each year, States and their delegated local agencies and some Tribal Nations submit emissions data to EPA for the National Emissions Inventory.
Reporting 2023 NEI Data
The 2023 NEI inventory year data collection is in progress under the 2015 Air Emissions Reporting Requirements Rule (AERR). State, local, and tribal air agencies are reporting to EPA for the 2023 inventory year, and must report to the Emissions Inventory System (EIS).
The 2023 NEI is expected to be published by March 31, 2026.
Industry owners/operators report emissions through state, local and tribal air agencies for the 2023 NEI (not directly to EPA). For more information about the requirements, see the AERR rule webpage.

- SCC Search Tool and Web Service is a searchable data base of the source classification codes that are used to characterize emissions in the NEI.
- EIS Reporting Code Tables (zip) is a zip file containing the different point source reporting codes used to report facility and emissions data in both xls and csv formats. A readme file is also included.
EIS How-To's
The Emissions Inventory System is located at eis.epa.gov. An EIS User Guide is located inside the EIS page, under the heading Support.

EIS Bridge Tools
The Bridge Tools (Facility/Point, Nonpoint/Onroad/Nonroad, and Event) are available to State/Local/Tribal agencies for reporting NEI datasets to the Emissions Inventory System. The bridge tools create XML datasets from Access database templates. Data can also be imported from the XML format into these Access templates.

Facility, Point and Control Staging Cheat Sheets are a listing of fields, their descriptions, and their requirements for the staging tables. This does not replace the more detailed CERS Schema document, located in EIS How Tos.
