EPA To Announce Major New Initiative Aimed at Children's Health

BOSTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will announce a new $1 million initiative related to children's environmental health at a press conference at 10 am Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Hall Elementary School, 23 Orono Road in Portland, Maine.

Speakers will include Mindy S. Lubber, regional administrator of EPA's New England Office; Gov. Angus S. King; Diedre Steiner, principal for the Hall School; Dr. Chris Stenberg, director of ambulatory care at Maine Medical Center, Edward Miller, executive director of the American Lung Association of Maine.

Directions: Maine Turnpike to Exit 8. Go through tolls and take left onto Riverside Street. At the end of Riverside Street (with Denny's Restaurant in front of you), turn left onto Brighton Avenue. Pass Pine Tree Shopping Center and Forest City Chevrolet (on right) and at First stoplight after Forest City Chevrolet, turn left onto Warwick St. Go until you see a sign on the left for the Hall School.
