EPA announces the latest round of funding for states to reduce exposure to lead in drinking water. This funding will accelerate progress in finding and removing lead service lines as the agency also announces a new lead service line inventories dashboard with the latest information provided by states. EPA has also issued an Additional Eligibilities memorandum underscoring important flexibilities to ensure states can use the funding more efficiently and effectively. Further, EPA has announced the redistribution of previous DWSRF funding to address lead.
EPA announces $8.9 billion for states, Tribes and territories through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF). These FY 2025 allotments are from annual appropriations and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The SRF programs directly support the EPA’s Powering the Great American Comeback Initiative, which emphasizes the need for clean air, land, and water for every American and the importance of cooperative federalism and partnering with states to invest in our nation.
