Information Related to Fraudulent EPA Notice of Violation Letters
EPA is aware that businesses are receiving falsified Notice of Violation letters demanding payment for alleged environmental violations. Please see the Office of Inspector General's Fraud Alert issued on July 30, 2024. If you would like to verify the authenticity of the notice you received or if you have received a notice that you believe is falsified, please email OECA_Communications@epa.gov.
