Public Notice: Omaha Lead National Priorities List (NPL) Superfund Site, Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska
Summary
Administrative Record Available – Residential Lead Cleanup Removal Action
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 has compiled the Administrative Record (AR) for a Time-Critical Removal Action at the Omaha Lead National Priorities List (NPL) Superfund Site (site) in Omaha, Nebraska.
The AR is the official site file that contains technical documents that form the basis for the selection of a removal action at the site. EPA developed this document collection to form a clear understanding of the site action.
EPA’s selected response action includes remediating (cleaning up) lead smelter waste at two residential yards at Operable Unit 2 on the site. Lead is a toxic metal that is harmful if inhaled or ingested and can pose serious health risks, particularly to children under 7 years old, as well as pregnant women and nursing mothers.
Site project information is available to the public at web repositories, including this AR #67629. To view cleanup documents, please visit EPA’s Site Profile page (see Site Documents & Data).
If you do not have internet access, you can view these documents online at this location: South Omaha Library, 2808 Q St., Omaha, NE 68107; 402-444-4850.
