Public Notice: Proposed Settlement with the City of Pierce for Clean Water Act Violations in Idaho

EPA is providing notice of a proposed administrative penalty settlement with the City of Pierce (respondent) for violations of the Clean Water Act at its facility located in Pierce, Idaho.
EPA alleges that the respondent failed to conduct required monitoring, submit required monitoring on time, submit annual reports on time, and exceeded the permit effluent discharge limits as required by their National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit (#ID0020206) at the City of Pierce’s wastewater treatment plant.
This action is being simultaneously commenced and concluded in a legal document called an Expedited Settlement Agreement. Under the proposed agreement (see "Related Documents" below), the City of Pierce will pay a civil penalty of $1,656 and has returned to compliance.
