PFAS Resources for States
Region 1 PFAS Science Webinars
EPA hosted PFAS Science Webinars on September 16 and 23, 2020 to provide PFAS information and research updates to EPA Region 1 and state & tribal partners. While these webinars were intended for EPA Region 1, we hope that all states can find the presentations and recordings useful and informative.
EPA-ECOS-ASTHO Bimonthly PFAS Science Calls
EPA hosts a bimonthly call with the Environmental Council of the States (ECOS), Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and interested state representatives on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). These calls are an opportunity for EPA scientists and our state environmental partners to share science and technical information related to PFAS. Topics include analytical methods, human health and toxicity, site characterization, exposure and remediation, and treatment work.
If you are a state environmental or health agency official or staff interested in joining the EPA-ECOS-ASTHO bimonthly PFAS science calls, please contact us.
EPA PFAS Research
EPA researchers are working hard on a wide range of activities to better understand PFAS and reduce risks to the public. EPA has compiled links to data and tools that include information on PFAS and are currently available on the agency’s website:
EPA has also compiled methods for analyzing PFAS in environmental media. These methods are in various stages of development and validation.
PFAS Risk Communication Resources
ECOS and ASTHO compiled existing tools, materials and strategies for a PFAS Risk Communication Hub. The PFAS Risk Communication Hub contains guidance materials for risk communication (case studies, toolkits, fact sheets, templates) and a collection of state and federal resources. These resources were compiled as part of our Collaborative Projects with State Environmental Health Experts.
ITRC PFAS Technical and Regulatory Guidance Document
The Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council (ITRC) has created a PFAS guidance document, fact sheets, and training videos.
