Guests visiting any EPA headquarters building, no matter the location:
- need to have an acceptable form of photo identification, such as a driver's license, to enter;
- may be asked to go through a metal detector; and
- must be signed in and escorted by an EPA employee. Call from the lobby the EPA staff person you wish to visit for an escort to your meeting location.
Acceptable Forms of Photo Identification
The Department of Homeland Security has begun implementing REAL ID Act requirements for visitors who present state-issued driver’s licenses as IDs at restricted federal facilities. In EPA headquarters buildings, driver’s licenses must comply with REAL ID Act requirements. Driver's licenses from states and territories that do not comply with the REAL ID Act will not be accepted as identification.
Individuals from states with noncompliant licenses may present alternative forms of identification:
